He who is without Sin...Gets two more chances!

Well, it's official. Robert Rodriguez has announced that he and Frank Miller are going ahead with the already highly anticipated Sin City 2. At this point it will feature the Dwight story that takes place just before his appearance in the first movie. Outside Shellie's window she mentions Dwight having a new face. In this awesome "A Dame To Kill For" storyline (my personal favorite) you'll find out what she meant by that and how Dwight became so close with the girls of Old Town. Best of all, in this chapter Dwight gets a helping hand from his friend and everyone's favorite Basin City resident, Marv. You can never get enough of Marv. They haven't mentioned what else is planned for the almost inevitable vignette, but if I had to guess I would think that the only stories minus "Family Values" that are strong enough to hold their own would be Deliah-driven ones (A female assassin in training). Originally, they had mentioned putting the last published story, "From Hell and Back" in the second film, but at this point I think they're keeping it as the main course for what looks to be a third (that's right) Sin City movie in the works. It is marginally larger than most of the other stories, so I could see that being the case. There's even talk of Johnny Depp playing the lead to that story, Wallace. However they tie each film together, I'm sure they each will offer up as much entertainment as the first movie did. Sin City 2 is slated for a 2007 release, followed by Sin City 3 in 2008. That seems like quite a waiting period for a film like this shot mainly with green screens, but there's talk of filming the two back-to-back a la Superman 1&2 and Back To the Future 2&3, but the details are all very tentative at this point. Who cares?...I'm just glad they're coming.
